Under the guidance of coach Morgan Wootten, Marvin helped lead the Stags to two national championships.
In 1974, Marvin was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the second overall pick. He was an instant sensation, averaging 22.6 points per game in his rookie season. Marvin was known for his flamboyant style of play. He was a gifted scorer who could create his own shot at will. He was also a fierce rebounder and defender.
Marvin's NBA career was a roller coaster ride. He played for seven different teams during his 10-year career. He had some great moments, but he also struggled with injuries and off-court issues. Marvin was often in the news for his antics off the court. He was known for his partying lifestyle and his outspoken personality.
